Memory: Rambutan - Siem Reap,Cambodia

Okay.  Deep breath.  Reminiscing upon our stay at Rambutan Hotel and Resort in Siem Reap without feeling all the feels isn’t possible.

The context in which we meet someone inextricably intertwines itself into our impressions and memories. So too, does a hotel’s location. First, Siem Reap captured a piece of my heart; then, Rambutan provided a beautiful, gentle oasis for it to exhale and relax within.

After spending days weaving through Siem Reap’s rustic streets, meandering the vibrant markets and getting our Lara Croft on amid Angkor’s temple ruins, it was a relief to step into Rambutan’s lush courtyard and collapse poolside with a Kampot Martini in hand.

A perfect balance of all the home comforts, insanely moreish local dishes and uber-chic interior styling that complemented the distinctly Cambodian character.

Speaking of which, the Rambutan team was bursting with genuinely caring, attentive and charismatic personalities. Judging by the posts from friends who recently returned to Rambutan, all of this remains true.

One day we’ll go back… they are, after all, still tending to that little bit of me I left behind. To score our experience as a 10/10 undersells it.
